I am writing this in the morning before my first lesson. I have prepared three lessons for this segment: one on arrays, one on commutative/associative properties, and one on total cost. I am very excited. I am sitting in class, and I am a mixture of nerves, confidence, and eagerness. I both want to relish this moment and get it over with. I probably want it to be over more, but I still acknowledge this is a memborable time in my teaching career. Oh well, here it goes!
I have still been observing as my teacher, along with the rest of school, is steadfastly preparing for STAR testing.I only have to concentrate on my three lessons, and worry about knocking them out of the park.
I have begun the PACT process. I have finished the beginning Task and have begun to prepare my lessons. I met with my master teacher and decided the end of the month will be a good time. It is tricky, however, because they have begun reteach for test prep this week that goes all the way through STAR testing in May. My teacher has been kind and has made it work. I will be doing my learning segment on multiplication. I will do my days of PACT on April 25, 26, and 29. It is so close, and I am excited to knock it out of the park! The kids will be testing for prep heavily otherwise until them, and Splash Math is one of the apps I use to accomplish their practice.
